Hey noobz and gamers! It’s time for the ultimate Level Up office team sport – let’s find out who the ultimate gaming group is!

Join UGC 2008 now and get to win tons of prizes (well… sorta… it just sounded like a cool marketing pitch)

But enough of my crap. Form your team now and read the rules below.

Overview

Form a team of 5 to 8 (one of which must be a girl). Your team must battle other teams in different gaming formats and platforms… PC, Xbox 360, PS2, Nintendo DS. Score points for your team and screw your opponent. Play such games as Tekken 6, StarCraft, CounterStrike, NBA 2k8, Mario Cart (DS) and Guitar Hero

You must accept the challenge and prove that you and your berks are the toughest out there!

Winner takes all!

• Finals: TBA (hopefully we can do this at the summer outing)

Eligibility and How to Join

1. Form a team composed of 5 members (minimum) to 11 members (maximum)
2. One of which must be a girl
3. You can get from your own department or get from any department (no limits)
4. A department can have any number of teams
5. It’s a team sport (duh!)
6. Each player must play at least ONE of the games below (see official list)
7. Fill up the attached form (got none, ask GM Tristan for one)
8. Email it to the head judge
9. Pay P500 team registration fee (this goes to the POT… winner takes all)

Here’s the official game list and how many members of your team needs to play. Note that your team scores points for each game and is added to your team’s total.

Tournament Rules

1. Scoring – TEAM POINTS
   1. You will face off another team and will play against them
   2. Your players will battle against theirs in the registered game of choice (you should figure out who plays what in your form)
   3. Example, your Tekken dude fights the other Tekken dude. (see specific game rules below)
   4. A TEAM MATCH ends when all the games have been played
   5. Each win in A GAME is 3 points for your team
   6. Each loss is 0 points for your team
   7. Draws score 1 point each
   8. Total scores for each team are tallied at the end of each TEAM MATCH (different from game match)
   9. You can have a maximum of 18 points vs another team (sweep. 3 pts x 6 games)
2. Scoring – MVP (invidual)
   1. Individual achievements will also be scored. These are called your MVP or l33t points
   2. If you are the winner in an individual or part of the team you get 3 points. Loss zero, draw = 1
   3. Individual points will be tallied
   4. You get more points when you play and win MORE games
   5. Top scorer at the end of the season is the league’s MVP 
   6. Scores will be posted at the official blog and site
   7. Female player with the most points at the end of the season will be the gmtristan.com l33t gamer babe
3. Format
   1. Format is round robin. 
   2. 1 round or half a round (TBA)
   3. Top 2 teams go to the Championship
   4. Winner takes all
4. Judging
   1. Whatever Head Judge says is final and legal!

5. Records
   1. Team score tallies will be uploaded to the offical website (this one) and emailed to all regularly
   2. Scores will also be posted (like the old medieval times) in our iRL bulletin boards
6. Peripherals
   1. Players may bring their own controllers, guitars, mouse, keyboard and headset
   2. If you lose, don’t blame it on the hardware damnit

  • Map: Hidden Temple or BGH (agreed by both)
  • 1 game only
  • Toss coin. Winner chooses to either choose race first or wait until his opponent chooses
  • It’s a draw if game reaches 1 hour
• NBA 2k8
  • 2 vs. 2
  • Race to 2 games. 
  • 3 minute quarters
  • Toss coin to choose Home or Away
  • Players writes down his team, gives to judge
  • They both log in
  • Judge checks team
  • Fight
• COUNTERSTRIKE
  • 3 vs. 3
  • Map: Dedust
  • Toss Coin. Winner chooses side
  • Team max round = 12
  • 12 rounds per side (Counter and Terrorist)
  • Switch after first 12 rounds
  • Race to 13 wins (collective wins)
• MARIO KART
  • 4 vs 4 (team)
  • 10 races
  • Random tracks
  • Most points (team) wins
• Guitar Hero 3
  • 1 vs 1
  • Face off. Medium difficulty only.
  • 3 songs (toss coin. Winner chooses 1 song. Loser chooses next song. Through the Flames and Fire is always last song)
  • Defeat opponent with 2 songs to win
